MUTARE-Alfred Dzikiti (42) of number 10 Miller Road, Greenside in Mutare City died after 4hours of continuous drinking o the highly intoxicating 8PM cane spirit while on a visit to Sakubva on Wednesday.
Manicaland province acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek Watch that Alfred was seen drinking 8PM cane drink by Pernisia Mhandu (21) at around 8am.
Alfred was on his way to his grandmother’s house at number 10 Mundembe Street to see some tenants when he became intoxicated.
His lifeless body was seen in a trench by 89 year old Gariremwo Masinira of Mazhambe at around 12pm on the same day who went on to report to Sakubva Police.
The police took the body to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for a postmortem.
Chinyoka advised those who take alcohol that they should do it in moderation for the sake of their health.
