MASVINGO-Zimbabwe’s 4x400m men relay team has qualified for the upcoming World Relay Championships set to take place in Guangzhou, China from May 10 to 11.

The global event will feature men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m races as well as mixed relays, with 32 teams competing in each category.

Zimbabwe booked their place in the 4x400m finals after posting an impressive time of 3 minutes 03.39 seconds at the Lefika International Relays Challenge held in Francistown, Botswana, on March 29.

That performance saw the team ranked 28th by World Athletics, placing them within the qualification bracket.

The quartet of Leeford Zuze, Gerren Muwishi, Aldrin Mafa and Dennis Hove delivered the qualifying run, showcasing strong teamwork and consistency.

Zimbabwe held onto their position through to the close of the qualification window on April 13, officially confirming their spot at the prestigious global championships.
