The Police has arrested a syndicate of four individuals responsible for a series of carjackings targeting taxi operators in Beitbridge, The Midweek Watch has learned.

According to a press statement released by CID Spokesperson Detective Inspector Rachael Muteweri, the accused, Takudzwa Nongerai (24), Isaac Nherera (26), Steven Mutuvira (24), and Peace Karanda (26), would pose as genuine passengers before attacking and robbing their victims of motor vehicles and valuables.
The ZRP’s CID Beitbridge unit uncovered evidence linking the quartet to the robbery cases, leading to their arrest on March 24, at Mbedzi Shopping Centre.
Further investigations resulted in the recovery of two stolen Honda Fit vehicles registration numbers AFH 4329 and AFE 0872.
The accused appeared before the Magistrate Charity Maphosa at Beitbridge Magistrate Court and were remanded in custody until April 5, for sentencing, Wilbrot Mleya was the Public Prosecutor.
