Lower Gwelo -A 34 year-old man died on the spot after being fatally assaulted by four men avenging for their brother’s attack earlier in the year.
The heinous incident occurred at Ntabamhlope Business Centre, Lower Gweru last week on Saturday
Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said Police had since launched a manhunt for the three suspects who are at large.
“We are now on the hunt for the other three suspects who are still at large and as always, we welcome any assistance we can get from the public.” he added.
Mahoko said on July 11, 2023 at around 345pm, Mkhululi Dube (31) of Village Mathethe under Chief Malisa was drinking beer alone at Ntabamhlope Business Centre in Lower Gweru.
Four men, Thulani Ncube [34], Vumani Ndebele, Sizweni Elias, Victor Ncube, all of Village Mathina under Chief Malisa approached Mkhululi Dube to avenge for their brother whom they said was stabbed with a knife sometime in May 2023 by the deceased.
They started assaulting him with a stone, a knobkerrie and also stabbed him all over the body with knives. He died on the spot and the suspects left the scene.
Maboleni Police officers attended the scene and the body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital. Thulani Ncube was arrested and he is now in police custody, while the other three suspects are still at large
