2024 Masvingo Provincial Show winners

The oversubscribed 2024 Masvingo Agricultural Show had several contestants vying for the top gong.
The judges had a difficult time to come up with winners as all companies and government departments put up a strong showing over the three days.
Masvingo Agricultural show Society chairperson, Fadzai Jirivengwa said the awards are a testimony that the event is growing from strength to strength.
“The contests were very close and there was a lot of interest from organisations and the exhibitions were far much better than the previous year. Companies and organisations were geared for top honors.
“We promise to deliver a much bigger and more exciting show come next year and we urge companies to book their stands early to avoid disappointments,” said Jirivengwa a veteran educationist.
In the Livestock Section there was Makoholi Research Station, Kutsanga Tobacco Research Board and Hazangwi.
Makoholi Research Station also excelled in the Commercial Farmers category, alongside MC Meats.
Under poultry and rabbits section Gift Katsvairo, Keresia Nepfumbi and Godfrey Chikwashira were the winners.
Agricultural Government departments awards went
to Research and Specialist Services, Veterinary Services Department and Department of Mechanization.
In the educational category there was Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU), Masvingo Teachers’ College, and Great Zimbabwe University as top performers.
Under the Community Impact category, the National Aids Council (NAC), Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC), and Caritas were acknowledged for their outstanding work in Health Services and Social Services.
Tanganda, Phill Air, and Tongaat Hullets stood out in the Industrial Sector, while Unilong, Ian Dickie parts, and Junior Driving School (JDS) excelled among Commercial Small, Medium and Large Enterprises.
Econet Wireless Zimbabwe (EWZ) and Netone were recognized as top Telecommunications Companies, and the Ministry of Information and Publicity, Mirror, and Hevoi FM were honored in the Media category.
Chiredzi, Chivi, Mwenezi, Masvingo, Zaka, and Bikita were recognized for their exceptional displays in the District Stands category.
In the High Schools Arts and Craft category, Chibi High School, Ndarama, and Masvingo Christian High School were top performers.
Under the Primary schools category Helen Mcghie Primary, Shakashe Primary School, and Rujeko Primary School also demonstrated excellence.
Gondo Innocent, Loice Zembe, and Silivia Mudzingwa, excelled in the Field Crops category.
In the Horticulture section Marange E O, Taneti Mafengambiri, and Tinago Tawanda were adjudged the best.
In the Crafts category Maramba Memory, Tasvakai Zirembwa, and Togarirofa Sophia also shone.
Government institutions and parastatals also received recognition, Masvingo City Council, Rural Electrification Agency, Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, and Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company excelled in Government Parastatal (Services and Industrial) category.
Zimbabwe National Water Authority, Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management, and Zimbabwe Revenue Authority stood out among Government Authorities.
Registrar General’s Office, Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, and Office of the President and Cabinet were honored among Government Departments.
Forestry Commission, Health Service Commission, and Public Service Commission demonstrated exceptional work in the Commissions category.
In Commercial Agriculture (Seed Houses), Farm & City, Intaba Trading, and Zadzamatura took top honors.
Uniformed Forces recognition went to Zimbabwe National Army, Zimbabwe Republic Police, and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services.
Financial Institutions, Insurance Services awards went to Zimpost, AFC, and Nyaradzo Funeral Services.
Under the Party Affiliates category, Young Women for ED, Women Cross Border for ED, and Community Action Group were also recognized.
In the Home Industry section the awards went to Madzivadondo Susan, Mudzingwa G, and Tapera Edna.
