2 state security agents in dock for threats

In a shocking display of abuse of power, two state security agents based at Murambinda Growth Point have appeared in the court on Monday to answer to assault charges.

Tamuka Ndagurwa (39) and Dominic Emmanuel Takadiyi (62) appeared before Magistrate Poterai Gwezhira charged with assault as defined in Section 89 (1) (b) of the Criminal Law and Codification and Reform Act.

The two who were self-actors pleaded not guilty to the charge and were remanded out of custody on free bail and will be back in the dock on 14 October 2024 for trial.

It was the State’s case led by Connie Nyamaropa that on the 8th of March 2024 and at Office of the President at Murambinda Growth Point in Buhera, Tamuka Ndagurwa the officer in-charge and Dominic Takadiyi (deputy in-charge at Murambinda) assaulted Munyaradzi Dingwiza (42).

“Complainant who resides in Murambinda and is self-employed, is also an electronic repairer of electric gadgets at Murambinda. On 08 March 2024 at about 1000hrs, the two accused persons acting in common purpose summoned the complainant to their offices over an issue of a Lenovo thick pad laptop which was presumed to have been stolen from the complainant’s shop belonging to Tafadzwa Madhewu,” prosecuted Nyamaropa. 

It is alleged that the complainant felt threatened fearing for his life and went to report the matter to the police leading to the duo’s arrest.
