CHIREDZI-Two people died on the spot when a motorcycle they were riding smashed into a stationery trailer at the 102km peg along Ngundu-Tanganda on June 15, at around 6pm.
Masvingo Province ZRP Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that Emmanuel Chirambamurivo (24) of Zava Area Chiredzi was riding the motorcycle with a passenger, Erick Maphosa from Crocodile Farm when he smashed into the stationery trailer.
The stationary trailer belongs to Vusomuzi Sigauke of Westwood Chiredzi.
The motorcyclist, who was traveling at a high speed, failed to notice the stationary trailer and crashed into it resulting in Chirambamurivo sustaining a deep cut above the right eye, head injuries whilst the passenger had also head injuries and a fracture on his right arm.
A report was made to the police and the bodies were taken to Chiredzi General Hospital for postmortem.
Inspector Dhewa encouraged motorists that whenever they have a breakdown they should put adequate signage to warn other motorists of impending danger.
