Founded on April 28, 2008, by its Chief Executive Officer, Prof Kudakwashe Taruberekera, the company has established itself as a leader in infrastructure development while maintaining a steadfast commitment to corporate social responsibility.

“We see this as an opportunity to give back to the community that has always supported us,” Taruberekera explained. “True success transcends profit, and our corporate social responsibility initiatives reflect our commitment to supporting the Government of Zimbabwe in transforming people’s lives.”

This builds on the company’s previous donations of 10 wheelchairs each in Kadoma and Masvingo, as well as 10 residential stands for the disabled and five for individuals with albinism in Kadoma.

Eastlea Primary head, one of the schools that benefited from Taruberekera’s generosity, Thandiwe Fuyane said they join Craft Properties in celebrating their milestone and wish the company the best going forward.

“We are excited to be associated with Craft Properties, they extended a helping hand to us in our time of need, let the good times roll for the philanthropist,” said Fuyane.

“Whether it’s donating residential stands and wheelchairs or improving educational infrastructure, our aim is to uplift society and foster inclusivity,” Taruberekera said, adding that these acts of kindness are vital components of his company identity.

Looking ahead, Craft Properties is seeking funds or partnerships to build 3-4 bedroom houses for the underprivileged, particularly the disabled.

The goal is to provide affordable and accessible accommodation, addressing the issue of stigma and discrimination faced by this marginalized group.

“People with disabilities often face unequal treatment despite their unique needs,” Taruberekera noted.

“We aim to bridge the gap in ending social disparities and promote inclusivity through resilient housing infrastructure.”

The company’s commitment to community development extends beyond physical infrastructure.

Since 2018, Craft Properties has maintained a Company Bursary Scheme that funds school fees, uniforms, and stationery for students from underprivileged families across the country.

This year, the company targets to pay school fees for more than 80 students.

Taruberekera added that the Greenfield Cherries project in Kadoma and the Holyland high-density has established deep roots within the communities it serves.
