14 injured in Shurugwi accident

Shurugwi – Fourteen people escaped with varying injuries in a road accident which occurred along Gweru Shurugwi road on 27 May 2024 at about 0610 hours.
Christopher Shumba of Mkoba, Gweru, was driving a black Honda Fit with eight passengers on board, towards Gweru.
At the same time, Shepherd Sandu was also driving a Silver Honda Fit along the same road in the opposite direction carrying four passengers.
On approaching the 10Km peg, Sandu tried to overtake a truck which was in front, resulting in a head on collision with the oncoming Honda Fit.
All occupants from the two vehicles, including drivers were injured.
Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko called for caution on the country roads
“We appeal to motorists to exercise due care, diligence and avoid speeding when driving. We also urge commuters to avoid the use of mushika mushika vehicles as they pose serious danger to passengers due to reckless driving,” said Mahoko
