Zihove brothers ready to conquer  Mauritius

Masvingo Province’s boxing sensations, Tranos and Tinashe Zihove, are set to take the international stage by storm as they prepare to face off against top opponents in Mauritius tomorrow, August 24.

The Mucheke suburb-born brothers, who are under the promotion of D1, have been training tirelessly despite facing numerous challenges, including the lack of a coach, sponsors, and adequate training equipment.

Since turning professional in 2018, the Zihove brothers have racked up an impressive record of 4 wins and 3 losses in 7 fights. However, they attribute their losses to poor management and lack of resources.

“We are not just fighting for ourselves, but for our family, community, and province, we know we have the talent and dedication, all we need is a chance to prove ourselves,” said Tinashe the elder brother.

Tranos echoed his brother’s sentiments, adding that they do not want to give up.

 “We have been training under makeshift conditions, using makeshift equipment, But we will not let that stop us. We will make do with what we have and give it our all,” said Tranos.

The Zihove brothers’ determination and passion for boxing have inspired the people of Masvingo province, who are rallying behind them as they prepare to take on the best in Mauritius.

“We are proud to have the Zihove brothers representing our province on the international stage, We are confident that they will make us proud and bring glory to our province,” said Masvingo Provincial Combat Sport Committee, secretary general Yeukai Chingwenya.

The Zihove brothers’ fight in Mauritius is set to be a thrilling encounter, with the brothers determined to overcome their challenges and emerge victorious.

“We will make sure to put on a show and make our province proud,” said Tranos.
