MUTARE-The ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League secretariat has released the names of the 2023 season soccer stars with 12 players including the outstanding upcoming player of the year.
“We opened nominations from the clubs’ technical departments two weeks ago where they chose a player from their club and two from other clubs whom they felt excelled during the course of the season and from that list we came up with the 12 best for the season.
“The best player will be unveiled on the awards ceremony night in Mutare next week, the list released is in alphabetical order and not according to performance,” said the region’s administrator, Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira.
The awards ceremony will be graced by the Deputy Minister of Sports Recreation Arts and Culture, Emily Jesaya.

Those who made it are Adridge Mubango of Buffaloes FC, Alpha Matsatswa of surprise package Rusitu Tigers FC from Chimanimani, Carlos Chris Mukambira of champions Bikita Minerals FC, Charles Muradzi from Grayham FC, Guidance Charinda of Flamboyant Masvingo based FC Wangu Mazodze, Harrison Masina of FC Hunters and Iyvene Kururama of Surrey FC.
From former Premiership side, Masvingo United FC there is Kudzanai Kwashi, Lyoyd Marange of Mutare City Rovers FC, Oniel Jera of Manica Diamonds U19, Tenax FC who were briefly crowned champions last two weeks have Philip Makuni and gold miners Renco Mine FC have Tafadzwa to complete the list.

On the awards ceremony day to be held on December 9, at a venue to be confirmed and on that day the best coach, referee, player and most disciplined team will be crowned that night.
