Zhombe GMB loses US$14k inputs to armed robbers

ZHOMBE-Armed robbers stormed Zhombe GMB Depot and got away with inputs worth US13 545 which they loaded in a truck after tying the security personnel on duty.

The incident happened on 07 October 2023 at about 1am and suspects are still at large.

Midlands Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told this publication that the suspects who were armed with a pistol arrived at GMB Zhombe where two security guards were on night duty.

They ordered them to lie down and tied their hands to poles using ropes and took away 2 cell phones from them.

 They drove their truck into the yard and loaded 360 bags of 50 Killograms of Super fert compound D fertiliser, 8X50 kilograms groundnuts seed and 22X11 metres blue tent and drove away.

 The offence was discovered by another security guard who arrived to commence duty at 6am.

“The Total value of stolen goods in the incident is US$13 545 and Police investigations are progressing. Any assistance that can help in this investigation will be greatly appreciated.” he said.
