Three unknown robbers pounced on Yeovil Medical Center last Friday, causing extensive damage to facility.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed to The Midweek watch that the incident occurred at around 03:00hours today when the suspects jumped the perimeter fence armed with an unknown pistol, harmer and rope.

“The suspects approached Ngwaru Joko, a 66 year old male security guard, who was on duty and tied his hands using a rope and escorted him to the main entrance while two of them broke the door and gained entrance,” said Chinyoka.

Assistant Inspector Chinyoka added that the robbers took two stethoscopes and broke them, apparently believing there was cash inside. Upon realising that there was nothing they fled the scene.

The total value of the damaged property is yet to be established as investigations are still underway.

The matter was reported at Mutare Central police station.
