MASVINGO -A road accident occurred on August 26, at 05:50 hrs, on Tugwi Shurugwi road killed Ottilia Muserere (46) from Zvishavane leaving 4 others injured.
According to Masvingo Province ZRP deputy spokesperson Masauso Patinyu, Armstrong Dube (31) from Plumtree, was behind the wheel of a white Toyota Rush, towing a trailer carrying a body to Gokwe for burial, when he lost control of the vehicle at the 70km peg, veering off the road and overturning twice before landing on its left side.
Muserere, sustained severe head injuries and tragically died at the scene, two other passengers were rushed to Chivi General Hospital, where they received treatment and were later discharged.
The body of the deceased was taken to Chivi Hospital.
“Drivers should always exercise maximum caution when behind the wheels to avoid loss of lives when an accident occurs,” said Assistant Inspector Patinyu.
