Masvingo Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident and said the police are investigating the whereabouts of the accused who has since disappeared upon learning of the death of his mate.

“We urge the community to solve their differences without resorting to violence to avoid unnecessary loss of life.

“The accused is still at large and the police is investigating the matter,” said Dhewa.

The circumstances are that on May 01 around 8pm, the deceased and two others were sitting outside their plastic tent at Victoria Range Dumpsite.

The accused approached them and ordered Maphosa to pack his stuff and move out.

Whilst he was packing his belongings Mukwezva kicked the deceased in the abdomen.

At the Clinic, he was treated and discharged whereupon his other mates took him back to their residence.

The next day around 0450am, another vagrant at the dumpsite found him dead.

Upon hearing the news, the accused vacated the place and disappeared.
