MASVINGO- Obtaining a 100% pass rate is no longer news to Roman Catholic Church run Silveira High School in Bikita District as tit has done it again in the ZIMSEC A Level 2023 exams.
The school defended the 100% pass rate in style which they have been doing in the previous year.
In an interview with the Midweek Watch, Silveira High head Stern Mutsambiwa said the school has been doing well for the past seven years and this has been through hard work, discipline and cooperation among stakeholders.
“For the past seven years we have been performing well and Silveira High is one of the top performing schools in Masvingo Diocese under the Catholic Schools and the Province included.
“We are very happy with the results. The teachers and the learners are equally responsible for the results. They have both worked hard together.
“Cooperation between all our stakeholders is highly appreciated. The teachers worked hard, learners were highly committed to their studies and both parents and the Church were very supportive.
“We owe the excellent results to all our stakeholders. I can say Silveira High School is the school of the moment and we strive to maintain that,” he said.
The school had a total of 116 candidates who sat for ZIMSEC 2023 A Level exams.
The most outstanding student, Cardette Dhliwayo obtained 30 points in Pure Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Maths, Computer Science and Statistics, followed by another who scored 25 points in five subjects and five had 24 points with nine getting 20 points.
A record 65 learners scored 15 points with 108 of them attaining nine points and above.
