Rutenga woman found with 43kg mbanje

RUTENGA-Janet Mutarisi from Rutenga Growth Point has been arrested for possession of 19 buckets of mbanje weighing 43kgs on May 16.

Masvingo Province ZRP spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the shocking incident.

At around 0230hrs on May 16 a team of detectives was passing through Rutenga Bus Stop when they saw a parked truck, offloading some boxes of different sizes and colour.

Inspector Dhewa said the police officers checked on the goods and discovered that the boxes had 19 buckets of mbanje.

This led to the arrest of Mutarisi of Ziko Area in Chitungwiza.

Mutarisi appeared in court and Magistrate Conceptor Ngwerume remanded her in custody to 30 May.
