HARARE-Romapix Construction, a housing development company is putting final touches on the roads network for Nyabira area as it has completed servicing of stands in the area.
The 1 157 stands which range from 300 to 600 square metres located along Chinhoyi Road from Harare just after Mount Hampden are now up for sale to the public.
The Midweek Watch toured Nyabira residential area recently where Romapix is finalising roads, laying of water pipes, sewer reticulation and three demo houses with different plans.
The site manager, Kedwell Machodo said they are almost done with servicing of the stands and now await approval from the Zvimba Rural District Council to start allocating stands to beneficiaries.
‘‘We are at Romapix Nyabira construction site under Zvimba Rural District (RDC) where we are servicing roads, water reticulation and sewer reticulation.
‘‘We are also surfacing and levelling the tar on the roads as well as smoothening of the tar.
‘‘Laying of pipes is complete as well as the sewer ponds in the area,’’ said Machodo.
He said they will get a compliance certificate after reaching 100 percent of most of the civil works on the site.
‘‘We are going to finish all civil works and the beneficiaries will get permission to start putting up their structures and they will also get title deeds for their stands after fulfilling all the statutory requirements,’’ said Machodo.
He said Romapix Construction Company is not new to such works as they have done similar projects in Waterfalls and Mabvuku and beneficiaries are already on the ground without facing any hitches.
Machodo also added that beneficiaries will have the opportunity to choose plans from the three completed demo houses to maintain uniformity and the area will be enclosed to enhance security for the residents in the high crime zone capital city.
‘‘Our plan is to make this whole area an enclosed gated community with top of the range security for beneficiaries, that’s why we are having these sample houses so that we maintain an upmarket suburb status as a gated community,’’ said Machodo.
Romapix site clerk, Allan Chinorwiwa said the construction site has 1 157 stands and 3 finished sample houses built by some of their clients.
‘‘Here at Nyabira construction site we have 1 157 stands which are all up for sale, the 300 square metres are going for US$10 000 and 500 to 600 square metres are going for US$33 per square metre.
‘‘The demo houses or show houses were built by our clients, so it is up to them to sell them or relocate to this area when we get the compliance certificate.
‘‘All these demo houses have different plans, they have four bedrooms and some have study rooms and car ports. We designed them in a way that attract potential buyers since this whole area is an up-class community,’’ said Chinorwiwa.
