Paymasters finally cash in

ZVISHAVANE –HR Clusters FC finally remembered how to win when they beat Supply Chain FC 2-1 in a tightly contested encounter in the Mimosa Mine Social Soccer League.

The Paymaster, who were on a four match losing streak, were under immense pressure as employees showed no respect for them.

However, the win was not significant as they still lie 16th on the log table having played 12 matches, winning four, drew one and losing seven to amass 13 points.

Match day 12 also saw MHL FC beat Mine Planning FC 3-0 to cut log leaders Boltrec who were out of action’s lead to five points as they seek to win their second successive title on the trot.

Plant FC were beaten 1-0 by Projects FC to sit third on the log on goal difference.

Loss Control FC also missed the chance to close the gap on the log leaders after a 2-1 defeat to Copper Kettle FC. They have a total of 23 points from 12 games. Copper Kettle moved out of drop zone to 17th position.

New boys Mhondongori FC was narrowly edged 1-0 by Transport in their debut match in the league and they anchor at the bottom of the log table.

HR Cluster head coach Jaco Matebwe said the pressure was on and they finally remembered how to win.

“l was under pressure. My job was on the line, but the Gods refused to let the Captain go and we won the game now we are building for the games ahead”, he said.

21 goals were scored on match day 12 across all 10 games played.
