MASVINGO-The Pacific Storm ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League (PSERSL) has intensified preparations for the upcoming season, beginning with the induction of new clubs and the successful hosting of a player registration course.

The course attracted a strong turnout, with 19 clubs in attendance alongside representatives from Mashonaland East Province highlighting growing interest and commitment to the league.
PSERSL Administrator Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira said the preparations were progressing well and reflected the league’s drive to maintain professionalism.
“We are pleased with the response we received during the player registration course. The turnout shows that clubs are serious and ready for the new season,” said Munyoro-Chingaira.
She added that the league emphasized the importance of technical capacity, particularly on the coaching front.
“We took the opportunity to encourage coaches who are not yet qualified to enroll for the relevant coaching courses. Going forward, only qualified coaches will be allowed to sit on the bench during matches as we continue to raise the standards of the league,” she said.
With the new season fast approaching, PSERSL expects between 18 and 20 teams to compete, a development Munyoro-Chingaira described as a positive sign of growth and confidence in the league.
“The anticipated number of teams reflects the growing trust in the league’s structures and administration. We are confident that the upcoming season will be competitive and well organised,” she said.
The 2026 Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League will officially kick off on the 21st of March 2026 with fixtures set to be released once final logistical arrangements are completed.
