…as driver avoids pothole

One person died on the spot while three other escaped unhurt, The Midweek Watch can reveal.
The accident occurred along Masvingo -Mbalabala Road on 10 April 2024 at about 2020 hours.
Midlands Province Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the accident.
“We appeal to motorists to exercise due care, diligence and avoid speeding when driving.” Mahoko said.
The deceased was identified as Zhou Anesu Rairai a male aged 29 of Madubeko Village, under Chief Mazvihwa in Zvishavane.
It is said that Zhou was driving a Toyota Funcargo from Mberengwa towards Zvishavane with three passengers on board.
On approaching 101 kilometer peg he tried to avoid a pothole as a result he lost control of the vehicle and it veered off the road, overturned before landing on its roof.
The driver Zhou Anesu Rairai sustained head injuries and died on the spot whilst other three occupants escaped unhurt.
