Nyaruwata clinches Makovah memorial charity tourney

Masvingo Province Golf Association vice president Patrick Nyaruwata has been crowned the 2024 Makovah Memorial charity golf tournament.
The Makovah Memorial was held recently at Masvingo Golf Club and had over 60 players who participated in the worthy cause event.
Nyaruwata clinched the prestigious tournament with 76 points on 10 handicap followed by Cephas Ngwenya who had 74 points with 6 handicap while V.D Makovah with 74 points on 23 handicap was on third position.
There was also an auction held on the day where Hippo Creek Resort donated 2 nights for a couple and the proceeds were donated to the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund, Murambwi Foundation and Kapota School for the Blind in Zimuto.
A raffle where a goat and new cellphone were at stake was also held and the proceeds were donated to the same charity organisations above.
Over 20 organisations sponsored the tournament which was a resounding success, they included Fugra, Masvingo Chicks, I Mabandi, Ginex Restaurant, W. Ncube, N. Richards Group, Hove & Associates, N. Chibhanguza, Tambas, F. Rambanepasi, Savage Mining, Victor onions, Oasis Water, Tapiwa Zireva, Kalunga Holdings, Imbizo Meats, bannock Kalahari Reds, Tumai, Sy Mutangadura, Wulftech, Nyathi Craft Beer and Nyaradzo Holdings.
Other oerganisations are Petromoc Exor as the main sponsor and Chirundu Clearing.
On fourth position was N. Chibhanguza, fifth Moses Muputa, sixth R. D Cummings, on seventh position was prominent female golfer Rumbidzai Mabhiza, eighth position was C. Munopfukutwa, ninth was P. Chato, on tenth was Happy Tazviinga and on eleventh position was O. Mapika.
Sitting on 12th position was Setfree Mapuvire, on 13th position was D. Timba, S. Matake on 14th, T. Gezera on 15th position, on 16th position was T. Chindanya, on 17th was Y. Nxele, on 18th position was Farai Makovah with Clever Mumbegegwi on 19th position and Ryaan Cummings on 20th position.
Murambwi Foundation pays examination fees for under privileged learners at Mucheke High where the late businessman John Makovah attended and this is done as a tribute to his former school.
