Mwenezi – Neshuro High school in the arid district of Mwenezi received a major boost from former students who donated soccer kits, for the boys and girls teams.

The consignment of 30 soccer jerseys, 30 pairs of soccer boots, socks and balls was delivered to the teams by the Neshuro Old students Association (NOSA) at an event held at the school last week.

NOSA spokesperson Tichaona Mandebvu said the donation of the school kits marks the beginning of greater things for the school as the former students take charge of developing their former school.

“We are a grouping of former students at Neshuro High dotted around the country, some are successful entrepreneurs around the world.

“We have now regrouped with the sole mission of trying to help in any way possible to develop the standards of an institution which shaped us to be the people we are today,” he said.

He added that NOSA members are committed to improve the learning environment as well as infrastructure for the school and said the association will be donating pads and sanitary ware for every girl child learning at the institution in next coming weeks.

“Our hope is that in the near future NOSA will not only help Neshuro High School but we hope to extend a helping hand  to other schools not only in Mwenenzi district but countrywide,” he said.

The school head Simbarashe Manzungu said the school appreciate the gesture as the donation came at a time the school is hoping to be the Mwenezi soccer champions.

He said the school is also in need of text books, computers and a borehole for the institution to start undertaking market gardening project at the institution.
