NetOne launches cutting-edge technology

Last week, the country’s first mobile operator NetOne made a significant leap into the future of telecommunications by launching a state-of-the-art 5G base station.

This cutting-edge technology is poised to revolutionize the way data is used and embracing innovation in the digital era.

The launch which occurred in Harare, was attended by tech enthusiasts, industry leaders and curious citizens all eager to witness the unveiling of this groundbreaking infrastructure. As the curtains drew open, the audience was impressed by the sleek and modern design of the 5G base station, which promised to deliver lightning speed and unparalleled connectivity.

NetOne chief executive officer Raphael Mushanawani while addressing the guests highlighted that his organization was delighted to join the global digital elite with the full operation of 20 NetOne 5G base stations across key areas in Zimbabwe.

“We gather to launch a beacon of our future- NetOne’s 5G services. This is a technological leap that reflects Government’s forward-thinking leadership and commitment in advancing the nation and region into the future.

“We are ensuring that our urban and rural areas are linked through this powerful high speed data network, creating new opportunities for everyone. The activation of the 5G services open doors to innovation that will shape every sector of the economy.

 “Our efforts in rolling out 5G technologies are not merely about faster internet speeds. This network represents the foundation of Zimbabwe’s emerging digital economy. This is about innovation that drives economic growth, fosters entrepreneurship and create sustainable employment opportunities for our people,” said Mushanawani.
