Mwana Trust commissions US$40k library at Rowa Primary

A leading NGO in Mutare has walked the talk on access to quality education as a catalyst for positive change and sustainable development by constructing a state of the art library hub at Rowa Primary School.

Mwana Trust a child hope organisation through its director, Shamiso Mangongo handed over the state of the art facility to Ministry of Education last Friday.

Mangongo said that the handover was a beacon of hope for the pupils at Rowa Primary school, a gateway to knowledge as well as a catalyst for transformation.

“Our commitment to education and literacy has been unwavering since the inception of Mwana Trust.

“We firmly believe that access to quality education is not just a fundamental right but a catalyst for positive change and sustainable development.

“It is this belief that has driven us to undertake the construction of the library hub at a cost of US$41,523.00 an investment that we hope will have a lasting impact on the lives of the students and the community at large,” said Mangongo.

The Mwana Trust boss implored the pupils to integrate the library into lessons as the facility which is solar powered is internet connected thus opening up a world of possibilities for students and teachers. The library is also equipped with textbooks ranging from Grade 1-7 per learning area.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MOPSE) provincial director for education services, Richard Gabaza emphasized the pledge of his ministry in nurturing and protecting the library hub for future generations.

“As we entrust this library to Rowa primary, let us also reaffirm our commitment to its ongoing success. May we all pledge to nurture and protect this valuable resource to ensure that it remains a vibrant hub for learning for generations to come. Our valued pupils are urged to take full advantage of this library facility.

“To the pupils who will use this hub, let this be a sanctuary for knowledge, a haven for dreams and a reservoir of wisdom,” emphasized Gabaza.
