MSU Kwekwe Law School campus at 79% Completion

KWEKWE-The construction of the Midlands State University (MSU) Kwekwe Law School Campus is now 79% complete, Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, Dr Professor Amon Murwira revealed during a cabinet meeting held in Harare on Tuesday.
Presenting the mid-term progress report on the 2nd 100-day cycle of 2024, Minister Murwira highlighted the significant progress made on various projects under his purview.
He stated that the “construction of the Midlands State University Kwekwe Law School is 79% complete, while the Bindura University of Science Education and the National Biotechnology-Muzarabani Masawu Value Addition Plant are 68% complete”.
Additionally, the Lupane State University-Bingwa Wildlife Eco-Tourism Innovation and Industrial Park is 88% complete, and the Great Zimbabwe University-Chivi Centre for Dryland Agriculture is progressing well, currently at 56% complete.
Murwira also noted that the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences Wildlife Fencing Project for the Agro-Innovation and Industrial Park is 60% complete, and 100 people have been trained under the Integrated Skills Expansion Outreach Programme (ISEOP).
Designated by the Council for Legal Education on March 7, 2007, the Midlands State University Law School marks an important chapter in Zimbabwean legal history, as it is the first law school to be successfully established in post-independence Zimbabwe.
Currently, the Faculty averages a student enrollment of 100 students per intake.
The two-storey MSU Kwekwe Law School Campus, sitting on 229 hectares, will comprise lecture rooms, a moot court, an e-library, and an administration block, among other sections.
It will also house the faculties of agriculture and architecture.
MSU is the largest institution in Zimbabwe in terms of enrollment and has adopted a multi-campus philosophy, with campuses in Gweru, Zvishavane, Harare, and Bulawayo.
The university is also looking forward to opening other campuses in Gokwe and Mutare.
The Midlands State University Faculty of Law is currently located at the Graduate School of Business Leadership and Faculty of Commerce Campus.
