MWENEZI-Mwenezi District Chamber of Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) held its maiden graduation ceremony on 15 December at Rutenga Council Hall.

Member of Parliament for Mwenezi North Constituency, Master Makope, officiated as the guest of honor and conferred certificates to over 300 graduates.
MP Makope hailed Mwenezi District Chamber of SMEs for complimenting the Vision of President Mnangagwa.
“I am happy that the Mwenezi Chamber of SMEs is in sync with the Vision of the President, that of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper middle class economy by 2030” acknowledged Makope who went on to share the value of SMEs in the nation’s journey of economic transformation.
“SMEs are proving to be a game-changer as they are contributing 80% of the Gross Domestic Product, hence the Government is aligning laws and policies to regularise the easy of doing business by players in this industry ” added Makope challenging the graduates to hit the ground running.
“Innovation and Industrialisation are vital cogs of education 5.0. With the skills you have acquired play a hand in rural Industrialisation and create employment” challenged Makope.
Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Mwenezi District Acting District Development Officer, Shadreck Dumbuka praised Mwenezi Chamber of SMEs for providing an inclusive education system which is skills based. “I would like to congratulate Mwenezi Chamber of SMEs for empowering the society through practical training which prepares women and the youth for entrepreneurship” noted Dumbuka highlighting that the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, small and Medium Enterprises Development is ready to fund projects by the graduates as they put hands on the plough.
“The Ministry offers financial support in order to ensure that you have a sound foundation to start your business, so l urge you to liase with our development officers for details ” echoed Dumbuka.
Moses Nhamo, Chairperson of Mwenezi Chamber of SMEs paid tribute to President Mnangagwa for coming up with an enabling business platform which offers opportunity to all including the grassroots.
“On behalf of the Mwenezi Chamber of SMEs, we are grateful to HE President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for opening up Zimbabwe for business through inclusive policies which take the grassroots on board a testimony of the Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo mantra” highlighted Nhamo.
Mwenezi Chamber of SMEs’ graduation was the first, with students being conferred certificates after successfully completing practical courses in bakery, driving, hotel and catering , hair dressing, mortuary science beauty therapy among others.
