MASVINGO-Masvingo City Council (MCC) is in the hunt for a new Chief Security Officer (CSO) following the resignation of Cafeyas Mupindu recently.

Mupindu a former policeman with ZRP left the local authority for the United Kingdom according to a source who spoke to The Midweek Watch.

He had served Masvingo city council for nearly a decade and Council have flighted an advert two weeks ago calling for applicants to fill the vacant powerful post.

The security officer will be in charge of the entire Municipal police section, providing strategic decisions for the department, formulating and implementing the security strategy and policy.

The CSO will be in charge of transforming the local authority’s municipal department into a world class unity.

The municipal police department is an integral organ of the local authority as it is mandated to enforce council by laws,  carry out cash in transit services on revenue collected as well as providing security to all council owned properties.
