Masvingo–The Murimira, Marimi families and Masvingo business community has been plunged into mourning following the untimely death of prominent businesswoman, Hellen Sarudzai Murimira.
Murimira was a devout Roman Catholic (Mbuya Anna) in Masvingo.
She was 60.
Patience Murimira, a daughter in law confirmed the sad news to The Midweek Watch in a telephone interview.
She said her mother in law died at St Anne’s Hospital on July 6, 2026 after suffering from multi organ failure.
Mourners are gathered at Murimira’s homestead at 27152 Moringa Street, ZIMRE Park in Masvingo.
She was born in Mutare in 1966 in a family of seven.
Mbuya Murimira went to Dangamvura High Government School and was married to the late Partick Murimira. She started her business with her husband in 1997 at Ngundu Halt Business Center.
Later on they opened other branches at Neshuro, Mataga, Chivi , Sauro, and Matibi. Currently she was running her business at Ngundu.
‘’She would spent most of her time doing church activities like singing. She was a loving and caring mother. Mbuya Murimira will be laid to rest at Mangwandi Cemetery on 9 July, 2026 (Thursday) , ‘’ said Patience.
Her late husband Partick is from Mutero in Gutu District.
She is survived with three children and six grandchildren.
