CHIMANIMANI-In an incident that has left the Chimanimani community in a shock, a man killed himself after his wife demanded school fees for their children.
It is alleged that Nhamo Kwangwari (45) of Nyore Village under Chief Mutambara in Chimanimani District hung himself on a tree branch near his homestead after being money to pay fees.
The incident happened on September 16 after Kwangwari’s wife, Rachel Nehwangura (45) demanded school fees for their children.
Kwangwari told his wife that he is going to take his life because of the fees issue.
The wife left home in the morning to Nedziwa Clinic and left Kwangwari at home.
Kwangwari then sneaked into the bush near his homestead and hung himself on a tree branch.
Upon returning home the wife failed to locate him and with the assistance of her neighbor, Jeniffer Kosa of the same village they conducted a search and found him hanging from a tree branch in the bush.
They reported the matter at ZRP Cashel who attended the scene and took the body to Mutambara Mission Hospital, Manicaland Province police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka told The Midweek.
