Man fatally hit with brick over astray cattle dispute

CHIPINGE-A 22 year old Chipinge man died after he was hit by a farm brick on the head by his young brother’s friend over cattle dispute that had gone astray while they were watching a video on the phone.

Manicaland Provincial Deputy Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyaka confirmed the incident which happened on November 13 in Village G Musirizwi under Chief Mapungwana, Chipinge District.

Ass Inspector Chinyoka said Wiseman Mutisi of Peg 1 Village G in Musirizwi followerd his young brother Miracle Mutisi (14) where he had gone to collect their cattle.

When he arrived, Wiseman saw Miracle watching movies from the phone with Tinashe Muzamana (20), Rangarirai Mlambo (16) and Godknows Mavhange (16).

Wiseman beat Miracle with the flat surface of a machete on the buttocks and ordered him to go and search the cattle. Wiseman asked Miracle why he was watching movies while the cattle went astray.

Wiseman then assaulted Tinashe three times with the flat surface of the machete on the left leg.

Tinashe picked a farm brick and hit Wiseman on the left side of the head and he fell down unconscious.

Godknows rendered first aide and poured water on Wiseman who gained consciousness and was escorted to his homestead.

On November 14 at 8am, Wiseman went to Tafara Clinic for treatment.

His father, Frank Mutisi took him to the police station on November 16 where he made a report.

Wiseman’s condition deteriorated and he got admitted at Mt Selinda Hospital.

Wiseman died on November 18 at 4am while admitted at Mt Selinda Hospital. No visible injuries were observed and Tinashe was arrested as a prime suspect.

Ass Inspector Chinyoka said investigations are in progress.
