Man fatally hit boy (6) with stone as he stops fight

CHIREDZI-Makazviita Kuyumani of Triangle Section 13 regrets stopping a fight between two friends as he ended up mistakenly hitting a boy to death with a stone he had wrestled from one of the fighters.

Kuyumani has since been arrested by Triangle Police for murder and will appear in court soon.

Masvingo Province police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that the boy, Jaison Norest Mudumani was hit on the left side of the head by the stone on Jesus’ birthday but died yesterday (Sunday) at 2am.

Dhewa said on Christmas Day Kuyumani went to Chitepo Shops in Section 3 to celebrate and at around 8pm Edison Mugada started fighting with Blessing Zivanemoyo.

Kuyumani restrained the two and took away a stone from Mugada and threw it away, but it mistakenly hit Jaison on the head who sustained a deep cut.

Jaison went home while still bleeding and did not tell anyone about the incident, but her stepmother noticed some blood and asked him about the injury.

He narrated the whole incident to her and he was taken to clinic where he was treated and discharged on the same day.

He continued to bleed until on January 5, 2025 at around 2am when he passed away and Kuyumani was arrested while the body was taken to Chiredzi Hospital for postmortem.
