Chiredzi – A man died on January 21, 2025, after taking a traditional sexual enhancement concoction, known as “vuka vuka,” the police has said.
The victim, Daniel Chinopera, whose age was not immediately disclosed, reportedly took the concoction prepared by Fadzai Tom from the locality.
According to the Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa, the incident occurred on January 20 at around 4 pm when Chinopera was unable to become intimate with his 40-year-old girlfriend due to erectile dysfunction.
Chinopera then approached Tom, who offered to prepare a traditional remedy for him the following day.
After drinking the concoction around 7 am on January 21, Chinopera began vomiting.
Tom then contacted Chinopera’s brother, Moredays Muswere, who arrived at the scene.
Chinopera passed away shortly after Muswere’s arrival.
The police were notified, and Chinopera’s body was taken to the Chiredzi Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
