Labour circuit court starts January 27

MASVINGO-The 2025 first circuit Labour Court in Zimbabwe begins on January 27 with hearings in Mutare according to a Judicial Service Commission calendar in the possession of The Midweek Watch.

In Mutare the Labour Court will hear cases from January 27 to February 7 and proceed to Hwange from 17 to 28 February.

From Hwange they proceed to Masvingo where they will hear cases from March 10 to 21 before they take a break in preparation for the second circuit.

The Constitution of Zimbabwe establishes a Labour Court with exclusive jurisdiction over an exhaustive list of labour matters. Its purpose is to secure the just, effective, and expeditious resolution of labour disputes.

The second session of the Labour Court starts in Mutare as well from May 19 to 30 and proceeds to Hwange from June 9 to 20 and finally in Masvingo from July 14 to July 25.

They break for the mid year vacation which begins on August 2 to September 7.

The final circuit begins on September 22 to October 3 in Mutare, Hwange from October 20 to 31 and finally in Masvingo from November 10 to 21.

They then break for the Christmas vacation from November 29, 2025 to January 11 2026 when all the courts officially open for business.
