Junior High shines in public speaking, debate comps

 Junior High School has made a name for itself in the environmental debate and public speaking arena, securing an impressive third place out of 36 schools in the Sustainable Environmental Conversational Trust Africa (SECTA) competition held in Mutare over the weekend (12/4/25).

The competition, which drew teams from various schools across the country aimed to promote environmental awareness and education among youths. The teams showcased their debating skills and knowledge on pressing environmental issues, with the Junior High School team impressing judges with their arguments and presentations.

The team’s hard work and dedication earned them a certificate and a trophy, a testament to their commitment to environmental awareness. 

One of the debate patrons, Mrs Hove, said the team’s achievement is a reflection of their efforts and commitment to making a positive impact on the environment.

“This accomplishment is a result of the team’s passion and commitment to environmental awareness,” she said.

 “We are incredibly proud of their achievement and look forward to seeing them soaring to the next stage.”

The Junior High School team’s achievement has also earned them a spot in the regional SECTA competitions to be held in South Africa, where they will compete against the best teams in the region.

The SECTA competitions have been instrumental in promoting environmental awareness and education among young people.
