GWERU-Three gun-wielding robbers on Wednesday pounced on a man (35), stripped him naked before getting away with his two cellphones, cash and valuables worth US$2040-00.
Vengesai Mashavave was driving his vehicle home when three unknown men in a black Toyota Wish suddenly blocked his way around 3am along Hamutyinei Road near Lower Gweru turnoff in Gweru.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident to The Midweek Watch.
He said two men from the Toyota Wish ordered Mashavave to open his doors while pointing a gun at him before shoving him off the vehicle and stripping him naked.
Insp Mahoko added that the suspects who are still at large, then ransacked his car, took a “satchel containing cash, two cell phones and one work suit,” before they sped off towards Cleamont residential suburb.
The police is appealing to members of the public who might have information about the suspects to approach the nearest police station.
