MIDLANDS – Ruvimbo Funeral ZIFA Central Region Division One League will this weekend witness a make-or-break encounter when two army sides Tongogara and Chapungu FC come face to face.
Both sides still harbour chances of clinching the title and gaining promotion to the country’s top-flight league, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Tongogara is heading into this encounter six points adrift table toppers TelOne FC, the WiFi Boys. A win for the Battlefields-based army side will see them maintaining pressure on the log leaders who will be away to CM Academy who are anchoring at the bottom of the log table.
The table toppers, TelOne FC are leading the pack with 49 points from 21 outings and the league still has five more games to be played.
Chapungu will be buoyed by their recent form, they beat MSU in their last match and will be looking forward to resuming from where they left.
Mathematically Chapungu are still in contention for the title even if they are nine points adrift of the log leaders.
Other fixtures will see Shabanie Mine host across-the-road neighbours FC Platinum U19 while Loss Control FC host Amazon FC, Blanket Mine plays ZPC Munyati, and Kwekwe United battle Bishopstone FC.
