MBERENGWA- Mberengwa based ZIFA Midlands Division 2A outfit Great Dyke FC are set to hold trials in a bid to bolster their squad for the remainder of the season.

The trials are set to be held from next week July 18-25 at Education Stadium.

This has been confirmed by the club’s team manager, Ashel Gutu who said they are looking for 12 players with the centre forward position a priority as they are looking for three players in that spot.

The Serengeto Boys are currently third on the log as the league is now on mid- season two weeks break and they are seeking to utilize the break to register their 12 remaining players of the squad as they have played their 11 games with a squad of 18 players out of the required 30.

Out of the 11 games they won five games drew four and lost two games and are third on the log with 19 points. They scored 12 goals and conceded six hence the need to reinforce their strike force.

Gutu told The Midweek Watch that they need 12 players off the trials and all will be registered to the end of the season.

“We are set to hold trials from July 18-25 and six players are of paramount importance with us needing 2 central defenders 3 strikers 1 goalkeeper but we have a huge scope as we only registered 18 players we have a deficit of 12 players and the trials will give many an opportunity so players should come in numbers,” he said.
