Gokwe-A 38-year-old Gokwe man died after being stabbed several times all over the body as his girlfriend ran away from the unknown attacker.
The incident occurred on 28 April 2023 at about 10am at Sunset Business Centre in Gokwe
Jemias Mapolisa (38) of Masvina Village, Chief Nemangwe, Gokwe was on his way home from work in the company of his girlfriend when they met a man wearing a wool balaclava.
It is said that the suspect snatched a Vivo cellphone from Mapolisa’s girlfriend. Sensing danger the girlfriend ran away towards the business centre for safety leaving Mapolisa behind.
On 29 April 2023 and at around 1am, Mapolisa’s body was discovered lying lifeless on the ground in a pool of blood by a passerby.
A report was made at ZRP Gokwe and investigations are in progress.
Midlands Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko has since appealed to members of the public for any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect.
” We are appealing to members of the public with information which may lead to the arrest of the suspect to approach any nearest police station,” said Mahoko.
