Prominent Gokomere businesswoman and former Mirror staffer, Josphine Masvovere’s burial has been set for Saturday this week.
Masvovere collapsed at her homestead in Gokomere and was confirmed dead by a Masvingo physician and taken to Doves Funeral Parlor in the city.
Charles Joseph Marisa confirmed the sad news to The Midweek Watch and said his sister succumbed to cardiac arrest.
“We have lost a pillar of the family, she was a hard working woman and a devoted Catholic, who would take along everyone to focus on development and worship the Lord.
“She was a focused woman, a straight talker and a good listener, as a family we are in shock over her death and the gap she has left will be difficult to fill although we will take solace in her teachings and we will continue with her legacy,” he said.
Masvovere was 64.
She is survived by five children, two boys and three girls and 8 grandchildren.
Mourners are gathered at the family homestead in Gokomere area and she will be buried on Saturday 9 March 2024
Masvovere once worked for Masvingo City Council before joining the Masvingo Mirror Newspaper in 1994 until 1999 and also had a stint with the Gweru based Mambo Press company.
She later settled in Gokomere where she became an entrepreneur managing her retail outlets until the time of her untimely death.
