The football community in Mutare has rallied around 17_year _old Petros Simbarashe Muchara, a rising star with Mutare United juniors, after he suffered a devastating injury during a match against Sporting Athletics in the Mutare District junior league on Monday.

The Sakubva resident’s promising career hangs in balance as he battles internal bleeding at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital, waiting for a crucial operation. Yet, in a shocking twist, the team has yet to offer any support, leaving the young player’s family in distress.
In an interview with The Midweek Watch, Petros mother, Agness Machara, revealed her struggles to secure medical funds for her son’s operation.
“Petros is in the intensive care unit at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital and he underwent a scan on Tuesday which revealed that he is bleeding internally and one pint of blood costs US$250 which beyond our means,” she said.
Muchara’s plight has ignited outrage and an outpouring of sympathy from the football fraternity, with fans mobilising funds through whataApp groups to aid his recovery.

In a letter, Mutare District junior soccer league said Petros Simbarashe Muchara is currently experiencing internal bleeding after he collided with another player resulting in serious injuries and is admitted at Victoria chitepo provincial hospital waiting for an operation to drain clotted blood.
