As the ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League 2025 season beckons, one of the most supported teams in the country, Masvingo United FC aka Una Una is set to clash with arch-rivals FC Wangu Mazodze aka Zhalala Zhululu in a highly anticipated derby match on April 5.

According to Una Una Secretary General Owen Mafa the team is more than prepared to take on their opponents and exact revenge for their 2-0 loss in their last meeting during the previous season.
“We have been working tirelessly to prepare a the boys for the season, and we are confident that we will overcome our noisy neighbours, our games against Wangu Mazodze are always tense and closely contested, with our head-to-head record standing being draws. We are looking forward to a thrilling encounter and we promise our fans fireworks on the day. They should come to the stadium in their numbers and support their busmen in action,” said Mafa.

The derby match is expected to draw thousands of fans from both sides, with Zhalala Zhululu supporters already making bold claims about their team’s chances.
“Masvingo United do not stand a chance against us, We have been training hard, and our team is looking stronger than ever. We will definitely come out on top and we ready to roll,” said a confident supporter.
However, Masvingo United fans are not intimidated, and they are equally optimistic about their team’s prospects.
“We have a strong squad, and we have been working on our weaknesses, we are ready to take on Wangu Mazodze and show them what we are made of. It is going to be a tough match, but we are confident that we will emerge victorious,” said Tatenda Mafaune a supporter.
The stadium is set for an epic battle between these two football giants, and fans from both sides are eagerly awaiting the kickoff.
In 2024 the teams played one all draw and Una Una lost the reverse fixture 2-1.
