ZVISHAVANE-It was all joy in the small mining town of Shabanie as their team former Premier Soccer League side Shabanie Mine FC recorded their first home win which was emphatic as they thumped CM Academy 4-0.

The Ruvimbo Funeral ZIFA Central Region Soccer League match between Chinda Boys and CM Academy was played at their fortress, Maglas Stadium on yesterday (2/7/23).

Saymore Zulu begged a brace with Malcom Sakala and Tilbutt Mtombeni adding to CM Academy’s misery.

Prior to this match, Chinda Boys had recorded a 3-0 walkover win over Amazon FC and a 2-1 victory away at Bishopstone FC and this is their third win of the season which see them now sitting on position 10 with 12 points whilst awaiting the board’s decision over their abandoned match against TelOne FC.

The oldest club in the country have lost 5 matches of the 11 that they have played so far.

The team’s coach, Arnold Jani was pleased with the performance and reiterated that the players executed the game plan as per instructions.

“We have a youthful squad and it will take time to jell and now it is our second win in a row which means, they are sticking to tactics and we hope to keep the momentum going forward,” he said.

Shabanie Mine FC next play Kwekwe United at home.
