A stray leopard was spotted in the Feruka-Dora communal lands on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) has been notified and is currently investigating the matter.
According to reports, security personnel at Feruka detected a fresh leopard spoor during their routine morning patrol.
A team was swiftly dispatched to assess the situation on the ground, and their findings confirmed that the spoor indeed belonged to a leopard.
The sighting has prompted a high alert in the Feruka and Dora communal areas, with residents being cautioned to exercise extreme vigilance. The leopard’s track was found near the border of Feruka and Dora, sparking concerns for the safety of both humans and livestock in the area.
Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) spokesperson Tinashe Farawo when reached for comment could neither confirm nor deny but just promised to return the call from this reporter.
However, an insider has confirmed that the stray animal is still in Dora area although it has not attacked anyone.
As authorities work to monitor the situation and ensure public safety, residents are advised to remain alert and report any further sightings or encounters with the dangerous wild cat.
