Dog feasts on murdered woman’s body in her field

CHIPINGE- A -54 year old woman was murdered and her body found in a state of decomposition without nose and lips.

Manicaland Provincial Deputy Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident that happened on October 21 at Chikwanda Village near Usanga Suburb in Chipinge.

The now deceased has been identified as Ruth Sithole of Number 436 Medium Density, Chipinge.

On October 21, Sithole went to her field in Chikwanda Village and she did not return home.

On October 22 at 3pm, Sithole’s son Tatenda Mlambo (28)  went to the field to look for her but could not locate her.

 Sithole’s body was discovered by three who were looking for mazhanje fruits with their dog.

The trio heard their dog barking and when they went to investigate, they stumbled on the body of Sithole lying dead facing eastwards holding a hoe on the left hand.

The trio then met Mlambo at around 4pm who was still searching for his mother. The three told Mlambo that they saw a dead body of a woman in one of the bushes. They led Mlambo to the scene.

He positively identified the body of his mother but it was being eaten by a dog.

The matter was reported to Chipinge urban police camp who attended the scene. The body was inspected and police discovered that it was in its early stages of decomposition. The body had bruises on the ribcage.

A wound was discovered on the left toe while lips and nose were missing. A piece of her pant was also discovered nearby. Police discovered drag marks around the area. Sithole’s body was taken to Chipinge District Hospital for a postmortem.
