Daring Mazvihwa man grows 43 plants of dagga

ZVISHAVANE-While the nation has declared war on drugs a daring man from Mazvihwa has been nabbed by Police for cultivating 43 mbanje plants, with some now as high as 1.5m at his homestead.

Aluis Mazvangani was arrested yesterday by Zvishavane Police for unlawful cultivation of the highly intoxicating plant at his homestead.

“Police in Zvishavane arrested Aluis Mazvangani (46) in connection with illegal cultivation of 43 plants of dagga measuring between 30 centimetres and 1.5 metres at Guti Village, Mazvihwa,” read a statement from the Police in The Midweek Watch possession.

The Police has since declared zero tolerance on drugs and substance abuse which has hit the country after the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 which forced the Government to impose strict lockdown measures to contain the pandemic in 2020.

Meanwhile, Police in Chimanimani acting on a tip off arrested Tawanda Mlambo (28) for unlawful cultivation of 108 plants of dagga with a height of about 90 centimetres at Rujeko Village, Chikukwa.
