“A highly respected lawyer Cde Patrick Chinamasa correctly interpreted the Zimbabwean Constitution that Zanu PF resolution to implement it needed two referendums.
If Zanu PF was a people’s view centred, constitutionalist political party they would have had Resolution 2 on preparing for the two referendum as the then Secretary for Legal Affairs had pointed out at the Conference.
It is diabolic , madness and confusing that during the Conference members clapped hands as Secretary for Legal Affairs pointed out about the need of a referendum but some after the conference then declared that a referendum is not necessary to amend Presidential Term limits. This is political blasphemous of highest order. It is unimaginable for a Constitutional Court Judge to rule out a referendum which even Zanu PF Secretary for Legal Affairs and Annual Conference declared is a requirement to amend the constitution. Zanu PF if it has a normal human face will never defend at Constitutional Court the requirement of two referendum because they adopted it at their Annual Conference. There was no single objection voice to Cde Chinamasa’s presentation on referendum requirements meaning everyone was in agreement of two referendums.!!”
