Masvingo –Zanu PF ward 2 Councillor Benson Hwata recently held victory celebrations at Runyararo grounds.
The celebrations were attended by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Ezra Chadzamira who is also the MP for Masvingo West Constituency where ward 2 falls under according the last delimitation exercise.
“I would like to thank you all, you voted for development, peace and unity. We are so proud with the local and national leadership who are spearheading development as witnessed by the rehabilitation of roads which had been abandoned for a long time.
“Our President Cde E.D Mnangagwa who is leading the Second Republic is doing a lot through devolution funds which are helping in urban and rural roads construction as well as the Emergency Roads Rehabilitation Programme initiative.
“Schools, clinics, solarised boreholes and revival of irrigation schemes are everywhere for all to see through his (President) hard and wise leadership.
“I urge you to stick by your revolutionary party which has practical works that are tangible and delivers on its promises, don’t be fooled by these fly by night political parties which have names of individuals and are always fighting for leadership every day, they have no direction, so be careful don’t be led astray.
“Let’s be focused on Vission 2030 and deliver a modern society through our visionary leader Cde President E.D Mnangagwa,” said Chadzamira.
Councillor Hwata paid tribute to the electorate for voting him into council and promised to continue pushing implementation of development projects in his ward.
Chadzamira concluded his speech by promising the residents that they will not die of hunger as he will soon bring a truckload of food for distribution.
The country is grapping the effects of El Nino induced drought and the urban poor have not been spared forcing the Government to introduce cash hand outs through state owned NetOne cellular company OneMoney lines.
