CHIKOMBEDZI-Richard Bhaloyi (72) was fatally attacked by a buffalo after he had gone to look for his cattle in the bush as human wildlife conflict contues unabated.
Bhaloyi had gone missing 18th of May around 1pm after going to the grazing lands in search of his cattle was found on the 20th of May around 12pm by neighbours dead along Limpopo River with bruises all over the body.
The horrific incident happened in Village Mupandhle under Chief Sengwa, Fusane Area and it was confirmed by Masvingo Province ZRP spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa.
Bhaloyi went in search of his cattle along Limpopo River in the grazing lands and didn’t return home.
Around 11am on the 19th of May, his neighbour Gezani Mahosi realized that Bhaloyi didn’t come back home the previous day and informed some villagers about the issue. They went in search of him and failed to locate him.
On the 20th of May the villagers found his lifeless body with bruises all over and a buffalo was nearby.
Inspector Dhewa confirmed that the body was found in between shrubs and footprints of the buffalo were all over on the ground.
Postmortem was waived by Chikombedzi Magistrate Brenda Kachepa.
