Black Eagles shake hands with paradise

MBERENGWA – Buchwa-based Black Eagles have been crowned ZIFA Midlands Province Division 2A league champions with a game to spare.

They were crowned champions after playing out to a goalless draw against Midlands FC.

The draw took them to an unassailable 48 points from 21 matches and are three ahead of Chachacha FC, who also won their game 2-0 over Siwawa but that did not have an impact as the Black Boots side crossed over the line.

The promotion means Eagles will enjoy a new lease of life in ZIFA Central Region Division One next season.

Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Black Eagles manager, Wilbert Zveshure said they played well to get to the end of the line.

“It was a cool match considering that it was a dead rubber and we were playing with a depleted squad because of several injuries, but against all odds the trophy is home”, he said.
